Jazz Take Away Wizards Magic Win 129-87
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
A mugging took place at Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City Monday night as 12 visitors from Washington D.C. were thrashed by 12 locals. Worse yet it happened in front of thousands of spectators, and they were cheering! The perpetrators did not not rob the men from D.C. of any money or any valuables, they just took away their pride! The Utah Jazz put on an old fashioned butt kicking and the recipients were the Washington Wizards?as the Jazz pulverized the Wizards 129-87 Monday night. C.J. Miles led the way for Utah with a? career high 29 points.?
You can not truthfully describe this exhibition as a “Contest.” A contest denotes competition, there was none of that at this event. Utah had a respectable first quarter as they led 31-22 after the first period. The true beating started in the second quarter as the Jazz jumped to a 73-41 lead as the two teams reached the half. For some reason Wizards head coach Eddie Jordan decided his team had not received enough punishment after the first half, so he brought them back out for the second half. Bad move coach! Utah led by 39 points at the end of the third quarter as they were up 105-66 heading into the final 12 minutes of play. We will let the fourth quarter rest in peace.
Utah shot 59.5% (50-84) from the floor for the game, and 57.7% (15-26) from outside the arc.? CJ Miles starting in place of the injured Andrei Kirilenko took advantage of the extra playing time with 29 points, 5 assists,?4 rebounds, 1 steal. Carlos Boozer scored 19 points, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist, Mehmet?Okur scored 16 points, 9 boards, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block.? Kyle Korver came off the bench and scored 15 points, 3 assists, 1 rebound, Matt Harpring had another nice night comong off the pine, as he scored 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals,?1 assist.? Deron Williams recorded a double-double, as he scored 12 points, dished off 16 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, Ronnie Price scored 10 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal.
Antawn Jamison scored 22 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, Nick Young had a good game off the bench for the Wizards, as he scored 18 points, 3 steals, 2 assists. Roger Mason?scored 16 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, in the Washington loss. Utah is now 49-26, Washington is 38-36.
