The “Racine Journal Times” reported Tuesday that the Milwaukee Bucks have accelerated the pace, interviewing potential candidates for their vacant General Manager position. Phoenix Suns Senior Vice-President of Basketball Operations David Griffin, was in Milwaukee on Monday. Last week they met with an old familiar face to followers of the Association, Rick Sund former Seattle SuperSonics G.M. Sund actually started his career in the NBA with the Bucks. Team owner Senator Herb Kohl would like to have a new General Manager in place by the end of the regular season.

The Denver Nuggets shot 52.7% (48-91) and still lost by double digits to the Phoenix Suns! How you ask? Well mainly four guys, named Stoudemire, Nash, O’Neal, and Bell.? Amare Stoudemire scored a game high 41 points, Steve Nash added 36 more, and Shaquille O’Neal, Raja Bell, and Stoudemire all recorded double-doubles. Hence you come up with a?132-117 drubbing of the Nuggets, by Phoenix, after the Suns were down 22 points, in the second quarter. Oh, and the Suns won their 50th game of the season too!

This game just totally switched directions about midway through the second quarter, because the first half totally belonged to Denver. The?Nuggets went on the offensive early getting the Suns down at the end of the first quarter, 39-25. Phoenix looked like they were down for the count with 4:24left in the second quarter, as J.R. Smith hit a 25 foot trey to put Denver up 62-40. But rather than panic, the Suns kept their composure and slowly started to whittle down the lead, and climb back into the game. They had chopped off just three points from Denver’s lead at the halas the Nuggets were ahead 70-51, but they had stemmed the tide. With 1:53 seconds left in the third quarter the Nuggets lead was down to 87-84, as Raja Bell drained an outside shot. The Nuggets were ahead 92-86, at the end of the quarter, but you could just feel the momentum swinging the Suns’ way.? And then with 6:18 left in the fourth quarter, what seemed unthinkable in the second quarter happened, Steve Nash hit a 26?foot trey to put Phoenix ahead 110-108. Denver never caught up!

Amare scored 41 points, 14 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, in the Phoenix victory. Steve Nash scored 36 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, Shaq scored 20 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals. Raja Bell scored 15 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, Boris Diaw scored 10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals.

J.R. Smith came off the bench to lead Denver with 23 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, Allen Iverson scored 21 points, 7 assists, 2 steals. Kenyon Martin scored 19 points, 4 rebounds, Carmelo Anthony recorded a double-double, as he scored 18 points, grabbed 11 boards, 4 assists. Marcus Camby scored 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks. Phoenix is now 50-24, Denver is 45-29.

Los Angeles’ Dan Dickau drained a 3 just 32 seconds later and Al Thornton followed up with a layup?to cut the Mavs’ advantage to 78-75 with 6:07 remaining; After Thornton’s jumper cut Dallas’ lead to 87-82 with 2:45 left, Howard responded with a pair of free throws and 2 jumpers, giving the Mavs an 11-point advantage with 1:24 left in the game - sealing the win for Dallas.

A mugging took place at Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City Monday night as 12 visitors from Washington D.C. were thrashed by 12 locals. Worse yet it happened in front of thousands of spectators, and they were cheering! The perpetrators did not not rob the men from D.C. of any money or any valuables, they just took away their pride! The Utah Jazz put on an old fashioned butt kicking and the recipients were the Washington Wizards?as the Jazz pulverized the Wizards 129-87 Monday night. C.J. Miles led the way for Utah with a? career high 29 points.?

You can not truthfully describe this exhibition as a “Contest.” A contest denotes competition, there was none of that at this event. Utah had a respectable first quarter as they led 31-22 after the first period. The true beating started in the second quarter as the Jazz jumped to a 73-41 lead as the two teams reached the half. For some reason Wizards head coach Eddie Jordan decided his team had not received enough punishment after the first half, so he brought them back out for the second half. Bad move coach! Utah led by 39 points at the end of the third quarter as they were up 105-66 heading into the final 12 minutes of play. We will let the fourth quarter rest in peace.
