The Associated Press reported Tuesday that there is a campaign underway to get NBA Hall Of Fame Legendary center Wilt Chamberlain’s image on a United States Postage Stamp. The movement to get Wilt’s picture on a stamp, was undertaken by Donald Hunt, who is a sports writer for the Philadelphia Tribune. The Tribune is an African-American owned paper that has been in existence for 123 years. Hunt was a child hood fan of the “Stilt” who was one of the greatest players in the history of the Association. Chamberlain passed away in 1999 far too young at the age of 63. He is the only player to score 100 points in a NBA game, which he accomplished on March 2, 1962. A U.S. Postal Service spokesman told reporters that the earliest that Wilt could be on your letters would be 2010. If you are interested in trying to see that Chamberlain gets the recognition he deserves, you can help by writing to the Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee. The?more requests they get the greater chance there is to make this a reality! You can contact?the CSAC at the following address http://www.usps.com/communications/organization/csac.htm
