Riley “Tickled To Death” At How Season Has Gone
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
The longer the NBA season goes on, the more convinced I am on a daily basis that Pat Riley needs to walk away from the NBA at the end of this season. The “South Florida Sun-Sentinel” reported Thursday that Riley told reporters that he is “tickled to death” at how the season has gone this year for the Miami Heat. Riley’s explanation of his bizarre statement, is rather than swimming in mediocrity for a couple of years, getting pulverized for a season was the better alternative. The Heat have the worst record in the Association at 13-62, they are so bad they are 7 games behind the next to last place team in the Eastern Conference. Riley said “It all unraveled. I tried to stop it. We all tried to stop it. But we couldn’t. It had a force of its own. I’m tickled to death that it did, because I’d be looking at two more years of it. I’m tickled to death that we’re in a position we’re in right now, to build now and not wait two years from now, which is what could have happened.”
Although his thought process could have been to stay positive for the fans, the Pat Riley of the Lakers never would have said a similar type?of statement. Riley then could not stand to lose. ?There is no way a lottery pick would have softened the blow.?If winning means that little to Riley that he can dismiss this dismal season, while there are still 7 games left for Miami, then he has lost his fire, his drive his passion. Pat get out, your reputation will only continue to take hits as long as you are the public eye of the Heat.
