Jazz Shut Down Spurs 90-64

Mehmet Okur and Deron Williams each had double-doubles, but this game was all about defense as the Utah Jazz held the San Antonio Spurs to an anemic 36.4% (24-66) and a humiliatingly low 16.7% (2-12) from outside the arc, as the Jazz won in a rout 90-64.? The loss for San Antonio not only ended an eight game winning streak, it was the least amount of points scored in a game in team history!
The Spurs had a normal first quarter as they led Utah 24-18 at the end of the first quarter, but that’s when the engine started to sputter. San Antonio could only muster 14 points in the second quarter, and the Jazz had a 40-38 lead as the two teams went to their respective locker rooms at the half. Things did not really improve for the team from the Lone Star State in the third quarter as?Utah pushed their lead to 64-55 at the end of the third quarter. However San?Antonio saved their worst for the fourth quarter. The Spurs scored 9 points, in the last 12 minutes, that is almost impossible to comprehend!
Utah was led by Mehmet Okur who scored 17 points, grabbed 16 boards, 3 steals in the Jazz victory.?Deron Williams scored 16 points, dished off 11 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, Carlos Boozer scored 16 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist.??Kyle Korver came off the bench and scored 11 points, 4 rebounds, Andrei Kirilenko scored 10 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block.
Tony Parker scored 17 points for the Spurs, 4 assists, 4 rebounds. Tim Duncan was the only other San Antonio player to reach double figures, as he recorded a double-double, he scored 15 points, 10 boards, 3 blocks, 1 assist. Utah improves to 51-26, San Antonio is now 52-24.
