Not only did Memphis freshman guard Derrick Rose earn he and his team a trip to the NCAA Championship game Monday, he probably increased his NBA value ten fold. Rose looked like a cagey Association veteran with the performance he put on the floor as he led the Memphis Tigers to an upset victory over the UCLA Bruins 78-63 Saturday. Memphis led at the half by a score of 38-35, but they dominated in the second half.

Rose’s back court partner Chris Douglas-Roberts was the game’s high scorer with 28 points, 4 rebounds. However make no mistake about it, this was Derrick Rose’s game as he scored 25 points, grabbed 9 boards, and dished off 9 assists. The Bruins were led by guard Russell Westbrook who scored 22 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists. Center Kevin Love had another nice game with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, who as we all know by now is from Cameroon (I swear there were times like the announcers made it sound like part of his name. “And here’s Luc Richard Mbah a Moute from Cameroon.”) had a double-double 12 points, 13 boards. The Tigers will tip-off Monday night against the winner of the Kansas North Carolina game.
