The Detroit Pistons Friday night played no starter longer than 25 minutes, got 45 points out of their bench, and shot 52.5% (42-80) from the floor for the game, as they just destroyed the New Jersey Nets 106-87. After the game Pistons head coach Flip Wilson said this is how he expects to execute the rest of the game down the stretch. Wilson wants his starters well rested, and his bench battle tested for the Post Season run.

Detroit sat Richard Hamilton, who was in street clothes for the game out with a sore hip. It didn’t matter as the Pistons were firing on all cylinders. Detroit took the lead at the end of the first quarter as they were ahead 25-20. It started becoming more of a one sided game during the second quarter, as the Pistons extended their lead to 55-41, as the game reached the half. The game for all intents, and purposes ended after the third quarter as the team from the Motor City led 81-60. The fourth quarter was extended garbage time.

The Pistons were led by Antonio McDyess who scored 19 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks, 1 assist, in the Detroit victory. Rasheed Wallace scored 17 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, 1 block, rookie Rodney Stuckey scored 14 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 steal.? Tayshaun Prince, scored 11 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, Juan Dixon scored 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists. Chauncey Billups scored 10 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block.

Richard Jefferson scored 15 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, in the New Jersey loss. Stromile Swift scored 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, Nenad Krstic scored 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block.? Detroit is now 54-21, New Jersey falls to 31-45.
