An unlikely hero for the Indiana Pacers, reserve guard Travis Diener, may have helped the Pacers live to see another playoff hunting day as his 15 fourth quarter points helped Indiana pull off a 105-97 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday at Conseco Fieldhouse.? The win kept Indiana to within 3 games of the Atlanta Hawks, who hold the #8 position in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Milwaukee held a 52-49 lead going into halftime, then proceeded to hold Indiana to 5-of-23 shooting in the third period, taking a 77-67 lead into the fourth quarter.? But the Pacers’ Diener made consecutive treys to cut the Bucks’ lead to 77-75; minutes later, Mike Dunleavy made back-to-back 3-pointers, capping a 16-0 run and giving the Pacers an 83-77 lead.? Diener hit paydirt again for Indiana as he drained a 3, which gave the Pacers a 91-82 advantage with 6 minutes to play in the game; a dunk by the Pacers’ Jeff Foster with 5:10 remaining?would give Indiana a 95-84 lead, which sealed the win.

Indiana was led by Danny Granger with 27 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks while Diener scored 18 with 6 three-pointers, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal; Dunleavy added 17, including 3 treys, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and a steal while Foster had one of his better offensive efforts in recent memory as he scored 16 with 15 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block.? Milwaukee was led by Michael Redd with 24 points, 7 rebounds, an assist and a steal while Charlie Villanueva scored 22 with 13 rebounds and 2 assists; Andrew Bogut and Desmond Mason added 16 apiece - with Bogut grabbing 14 rebounds, dishing out 3 assists, making a steal and blocking 3 shots while Mason?grabbed 3 rebounds, dishing out an assist and blocking a shot.? Indiana (33-44) looks to latch onto the final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference - with help from Atlanta - as they ironically host the Hawks on Tuesday while Milwaukee (26-50) returns home to host the Boston Celtics - also on Tuesday.
