Slam Dunk Central NCAA: Rose Has Stomach Ailment But Will Play In Big Game

The Associated Press reported Sunday that Memphis guard Derrick Rose missed Media Day on Sunday due to a stomach ailment, but that will not keep from playing in the NCAA Championship Game Monday night. Rose led Memphis Saturday night past the UCLA Bruins 78-63. The freshman guard played like a cagey veteran as he scored 25 points, grabbed 9 boards, and dished off 9 assists. Due to his performance not only did the Tigers guard get his team to the Big Dance, he probably increased his NBA cache dramatically. Rose is expected to come out after this season for the NBA Draft. Memphis tips off against Kansas Monday night.
