The “New York Post” reported Monday that former New York Knicks center, and current Orlando Magic assistant coach Patrick Ewing has backed his former teammate point guard Mark Jackson to become either the new head coach or new General Manager of the Knicks. New York started a regime change last week with hiring of new Team President Donnie Walsh. Isiah Thomas who was both Team President and head coach of the Knicks is still coaching the team but his future status after this season is uncertain. Ewing, says Jackson would be an ideal candidate for the front office or the bench. The former Georgetown player told reporters “Mark’s a New Yorker, has a New York swagger. Whether coaching, front office, he’d do an outstanding job.”
