Knicks Shock Pistons 98-94

Okay, where did that come from?? One last gasp for Zeke before he goes, or were the players trying to send a message to Donnie Walsh to keep Isiah as coach? Or was it just pride on the players part that had not shown up at any other point this “Lost Season?” What ever the reason the New York Knicks?built a huge lead in the first half and held on for dear life in the fourth quarter, as they shocked the?Detroit Pistons?Tuesday by wining 98-94. Wilson Chandler led the way for the Knicks, in what may have been the biggest upset this season.

New York came out on fire offensively, while the Pistons looked like they needed a road map to find the basket in the first half.? The Knicks grabbed? a 28-16 lead at the end?of the first quarter. It was pretty much more of the same in the second quarter, as the Pistons could not seem to shake the funk they were in while?the Knicks kept hitting everything. At the half the? crowd was stunned to see New York leading Detroit 57-34. Things reverted back to form in the second half as Detroit started to chip away at the lead, cutting it down by 4 points, at the end of the third quarter, but the Knicks still led 79-60. Detroit would outscore New? York 34-19 in the last quarter, but they would fall short, and the Knicks held on for the win.

The Knicks shot 53.9% ( 41-76) from the floor for the game led by Wilson Chandler who scored 19 points, 9 boards, 3 blocks, 1 assist.? Jamal?Crawford scored 16 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 rebound, ?Zach Randolph scored 11 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist.? Nate Robinson came off?the bench scored 11 points, 1 assist, 1 steal.

Detroit was led by Amir Johnson who scored 14 points off the bench, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, 1 assist.? Rodney Stuckey back on the bench scored 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. Chauncy Billups, Tayshaun Prince, and Juan Dixon each scored 11 points apiece for the Pistons. Arron Afflalo and Jason Maxiell each scored 10. New York improves to 22-56, Detroit is 55-22.
