Nowitzki Explodes To Lead Mavericks To Post Season Beat Utah By A Nose 97-94

Dirk Nowitzki scored a game 32 points shooting 12-23 from the floor, and 4-5 from outside the arc, as he led the Dallas Mavericks past the Utah Jazz Thursday night 97-94, and right into the playoffs. The win clinched a post season spot for the Mavericks who won their 50th game of the campaign. it is the eighth straight year Dallas has won at least 50 games and made it to the playoffs.?
?Dallas broke out to a big lead at the end of the first quarter as the were ahead 24-15. They still had a healthy margin as the game reached the half as the Mavericks led the Jazz 47-40 as the two sides went to their respective locker rooms. Utah started to make their surge in the third quarter as they cut the Dallas lead to a single point at the end of the third, as the Mavericks had a razor thin 67-66 lead as the two teams went into the final 12 minutes of play. It looked like the game was destined for overtime?as the two sides were deadlocked at 94-94 with time running out. But with 0.9 seconds left to play Nowitzki drained a trey breaking the tie, and sending Dallas to the playoffs.
Nowitzki scored 32 points, 2 blocks, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal in the Mavericks victory. Jason Terry scored 21 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block, Brandon Bass had another nice game coming off the bench as he scored 14 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block.
Utah was led by Mehmet Okur who had yet another double-double, as he scored 19 points, grabbed 14 boards, 2 assists. Deron Williams also recorded a double-double as he scored 18 points, dished off 12 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, Andrei Kirilenko scored 15 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Carlos Boozer scored 10 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks. Dallas improves to 50-29, Utah is 52-27.
