Strong Shooting Gives Sixers Win Over Pistons 101-94

Andre Iguodala scored a game high 25 points, and center Samuel Dalembert recorded a double-double, and the Philadelphia 76ers shot 50.7% (37-73) from the floor for the game as they defeated the Detroit Pistons Wednesday night 101-94. The victory was win number 40 of the season for the Sixers, who are currently the sixth seed in the NBA Eastern Conference Playoff standings. They are one game below fifth place Washington one game ahead of seventh seed Toronto.

Detroit is just playing out the string right now, these game are meaningless. They are locked into the number two seed in the NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs. Pistons coach Flip Saunders priorities at this point, are in the following order; stay healthy, get his starters rested, get his reserves playing time, winning games.? The two problems with what he?is doing is number one messing with the remaining open seeds in the playoffs. The Sixers got a game handed to them that probably should have been a loss. Secondly from a personal?view point, you have the chance of getting rusty and out of sync. With all choices you get pros and cons.

The Sixers dominated this game from the jump as they had a 29-25 lead at the end of the first quarter. They extended their advantage at the half to?58-52. Although Detroit?never was really out of it they never really threatened Philly either as the Sixers led 81-73 going into the final quarter. The Pistons never really showed any?spark in the fourth period as Philadelphia won handily.

Samuel Dalembert scored 20 points, grabbed 13 boards, 1 block, 1 assist, Willie Green scored 15 points, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 2 rebounds. Louis Williams had another big game for Philadelphia off the pine, as he scored 12 points,?7 assists, 5 rebounds,?1?steal.

Chauncey Billups was the only Detroit starter in double figures, as he scored 18 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals. Juan Dixon scored 13 points, off the bench, 2 assists, 1 rebound, rookie Rodney Stuckey continues to impress scoring 10 points, 6 assists, 1 rebound. The Sixers are now 40-38, Detroit 55-23.
