Cassell Says “I’ll Be Right Here Next Year”

The “Boston Globe” Monday reported that Celtics back up point guard Sam Cassell, told reporters that no matter what happens in the NBA Post Season, he will be back in the same role with Boston next season. Boston acquired Cassell, after the Los Angeles Clippers bought out the remainder of his contract and released him. Cassell who had made no bones about wanting to be re-united with former teammate Kevin Garnett signed as a free agent with Boston, as soon as he was eligible. Cassell told reporters that he loves the team, his teammates, and coach Doc Rivers. When a reporter asked the veteran how he was so confident the Green Team would want him back next season Cassell responded “If they can find a better backup point guard than me, I’d like to see it.”
