Boylan Ousted As Bulls Interim Coach

The “Chicago Sun-Times” reported Thursday that Chicago Bulls interim head coach Jim Boylan has been terminated. The firing came one day after the NBA regular season finished. Boylan was chosen to replace former Bulls head coach Scott Skiles who was fired last December 24. Boylan had been one of Skiles assistant coaches. The Bulls have not officially announced the firing as of this writing. Boylan won his last game as the Bulls coach as they defeated the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night 107-97. His record for the season was 24-32. Boylan seemed to bring a new attitude to Chicago the first week of his tenure, as they looked more energetic than they had all season. He switched Ben Gordon from being a starter to the sixth man role, and Gordon flourished in the position at first. The report says that Boylan met with Chicago General Manager? John Paxson early Thursday morning. Rumors earlier in the season were that Larry Brown was interested in becoming the new bench boss for the Bulls. Paxson will talk to the Bulls players Friday.
