Doc Says Let’s Talk After Playoffs

The “Boston Herald” reported Thursday that two unidentified league sources have said that Boston Celtics management tried to broach the subject of extending Celtics coach Doc Rivers contract with the coach. However they were rebuffed by Rivers who believes that negotiating an extension to his deal would be far too much of a distraction for him and the team during the NBA?Playoffs.? Rivers is signed through next season, and according to the report the discussions will be tabled until this Summer. Boston opens their first round series against the Atlanta Hawks Sunday.
