J-Kidd Gets Triple-Double 100 Mavs Clinch 7th Seed Beat Hornets 111-98

Jason Kidd recorded career triple number 100, and the Dallas Mavericks locked up the seventh seed in the NBA Western Conference as they defeated the New Orleans Hornets?Wednesday night 111-98. As a result the Hornets and the Mavericks will meet each other in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
The first half was pretty much a battle as the Hornets led at the end of the first quarter 27-25. The two teams hit the half with the same margin as New Orleans led 50-48. The Hornets looked like they were about to break the game open in the third quarter, as they took a 70-59 lead over the Mavericks as Tyson Chandler drove the lane and put it up and in with 6:13 left in the quarter. But the momentum shifted radically as Dallas led at the end of the quarter 83-78. The Mavericks remained the dominant team in the fourth, as the Hornets climbed to within 4 points, but could never get closer.
Jason Terry led all scorers as he came off the bench for Dallas, and put up 30 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals.? J-Kidd scored 27 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds, Josh Howard scored 19 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist. Brandon Bass came off the pine and recorded a double-double, as he scored 13 points, 12 boards, 2 blocks, 1 steal, Dirk Nowitzki scored 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists.
New Orleans was led by David West as he scored 26 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists. Chris Paul registered a double-double as he scored 20 points, 10 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, Peja Stojakovic scored 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks. Bonzi Wells scored 16 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block. Dallas finishes the season with a mark of 51-31, New Orleans had a 56-26 record for the campaign.
