The Boston Celtics completed the greatest single season turn around in NBA history as they went from a record of 24-58 last season to finish the 2007-2008 campaign 66-16. The Celtics ended their season as they started with a victory, as Leon Powe came off the bench and recorded a double-double to push the Green Team past the New Jersey Nets 105-94. Boston ends up with the number one seed throughout the playoffs.

Last year Boston was on the outside looking in and the Nets went to the Post Season. The two teams changed roles this year, as it was a lost season for New Jersey.? Boston dominated this game from the jump, as they topok a 25-20 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Green Team increased their lead slightly by halftime as they were ahead of the Nets 53-47. New Jersey would pill to within four points at the end of the third quarter as the Celtics lead was 75-71 as the two teams went into the regular season’s final 12 minutes. Boston pulled away in the fourth as they outscored New Jersey 30-23 in the final quarter to win going away.

Leon Powe scored a career high 27 points, grabbed 11 boards, 1 assist, in the Boston victory.? Tony Allen scored 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, Eddie House scored 10 points, 4 steals, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.

Richard Jefferson scored 24 points for the Nets, 6 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal.? Nenad Krstic recorded a double-double as he scored 13 points, 12 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, Bostjan Nachbar scored 11 points, 1 block, 1 assist. Boston ends the season 66-16, New Jersey went 34-48.
