Spurs Grab #3 Seed, Blasts Jazz 109-80

???????????????????????????????

Both the Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs locked up playoff berths in the Western Conference playoffs some time ago; however, it took the final game?of the regular season to finally determine their final seeding just before the playoffs start in earnest this weekend.? So it can be said that both teams actually had something to play for Wednesday; Tony Parker led 6 Spurs’ players in double-digits with 24 points, leading?San Antonio to the easy 109-80 win over Utah at AT&T Center.

San Antonio took early control of the game as they shot a blistering 72% in the first half; they outscored Utah 35-18 in the second quarter and went up?by 28 points on Manu Ginobili’s layup with 41 seconds left in the half.? The Spurs went into halftime leading 65-39.? San Antonio would build their lead up to 29 in the third quarter; that’s when both coaches, Sloan and Popovich, cleared their benches.? San Antonio was led by the aforementioned Parker with 24 points, a rebound, 12 assists and 3 steals while Tim Duncan scored 14 with 11 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks.?

Utah was led by C.J. Miles from off the bench with 12 points, 4 rebounds and a steal while Mehmet Okur scored 11 with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.? San Antonio (56-26), the #3 seed in the Western Conference, will?host the Phoenix Suns, the #6 seed this weekend while #4 seed Utah (54-28) will take on the #5 seed Houston Rockets – also this weekend.?
