Rudy Is Ready For New Era For Grizzlies and Bigger Role For Himself

The Commercial-Appeal reported Monday that at least one member of the Memphis Grizzlies, is already hoping that Summer will pass quickly, and the 2008-2009 NBA season comes soon. Grizzlies swing-man Rudy Gay will be entering his third NBA Campaign, and the first one of of the post Pau Gasol era. Gay says that Pau was the hub of the team, but since he was traded to the Lakers in mid-season it’s time for a new era to begin. Gay said to reporters “Pau was here so long and he’s what people knew in Memphis. Now, he’s gone and the city has to turn to something else. Someone has to step up. I feel like I can because that’s the person I am.”
