Cleveland Holds Home Court Pummels Wizards In Game 2 116-86

LeBron James recorded a double-double, scoring a game high 30 points, the Cleveland Cavaliers shot 51.9% (42-81) from the floor for the game, and 52.6% from outside the arc, and summarily kicked the collective tails of the Washington Wizards Monday night 116-86. The margin was the largest Post Season victory in Cleveland Cavalier team history.? The win gives Cleveland a 2-0 series advantage over the Wizards as they held home court advantage at the Q. The series shifts to Washington for games three and four.

The Wizards seem to be getting caught up in the moment during the first two games of this series. Instead of learning from their two previous match-ups against Cleveland in the first round the last two years, they seemed to have regressed. They are following the example of Designated Fool DeShawn Stevenson and talking trash. Then Monday night Brendan Haywood decided to channel former Bullets center Jeff Ruland (Former Celtics broadcaster the late great Johnny Most used to call Ruland and teammate Rick Mahorn “McFilthy & McNasty”.) Haywood got ejected from the game in the third, when the Wizards center shoved LBJ with both hands as if he was a NFL lineman and James went?a good few feet out of bounds before he fell to the floor. Haywood was charged with a flagrant foul and will probably face a suspension. I would not want to be one of the Wizards players in that locker room after the game or on that plane ride home with Washington coach Eddie Jordan. Jordan is a serious, intense, no nonsense coach. He does not suffer fools well! The Wizards will be in for the?verbal?equivalent from their coach of the beating they took on the floor at the hands of Cleveland.

The game was competitive for the first quarter, the Cavaliers had a 27-22 lead at the end of the first period.? Cleveland started to pull away in the second quarter as they walked into the locker room up 53-40 at the half. But the game officially became a blowout in the third quarter, as they led at the end of the period 86-63. We shall let the fourth quarter rest in peace.

LBJ just missed a triple-double, as he scored 30 points, dished off 12 assists, 9 boards,?2 blocks, 1 steal in the Cleveland victory. Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 16 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, Wally Szczerbiak had a nice game, 15 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist.??Daniel Gibson scored 13 points, off the bench, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 block.

Washington was led by ?by three players who each scored 12 points apiece, Caron Butler scored 12, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals.? DeShawn Stevenson scored 12 points, 2 assists, Darius Songaila also scored 12 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, 1 steal. ?Brendan Haywood scored 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, Roger Mason scored 10 points, 1 assist, 1 block. Cleveland now has a 2-0 advantage in the first round series.
