Parker’s 32 Leads Spurs Past Suns 102-96

For this series, the San Antonio Spurs have been the kings of the comeback.? Tuesday night’s game between against the Phoenix Suns would prove not to be any different as the Suns gave away yet another double-digit, first-half lead; Tony Parker scored 32 points in leading San Antonio to a come-from-behind, 102-96 win over Phoenix at AT&T Center.? The win gives San Antonio a commanding 2-0 lead going into Game 3.
The Suns shot a hot 61% in the first half, yet managed not to be able to maintain their first half lead as San Antonio would chip away at the Suns lead before Phoenix could build it back up; San Antonio’s Michael Finley began the third quarter with 8 points in an 11-0 Spurs run and tied the game at 61 with a jumper.? They went up by 71-63 when Ime Udoka got open for an easy basket inside; Phoenix had 5 turnovers in the third period and shot just 3-for-18 in the quarter, leaving them down 81-72 going into the fourth quarter.? The Spurs’ Manu Ginobili would drain a 3-pointer and Parker would follow up with a layup that put San Antonio up 86-73 with 10:40 left to play in the game.
Another basket by Parker put the Spurs up 94-77 before Phoenix slowly chipped away at the Spurs’ lead; the Suns’ Shaquille O’Neal made 1 of 2 from the free throw line and?Steve Nash made a trey brought the Suns to within 94-81.? Nash would lead a 10-0 Suns rally which put them to within 96-91 with 2:44 remaining; San Antonio’s Tim Duncan slammed home a dunk with 1:47 left to go and Parker would follow that up with a basket which put San Antonio up 101-93.? Phoenix’s Amare Stoudemire?hit a 3-pointer to make it 101-96, but the Suns would foul the rest of the way, sealing the win for San Antonio.
San Antonio was led by Parker with 32 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals while Ginobili, from his 6th man role, scored 29 points, including three 3-pointers, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a block; Duncan added 18 with 17 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and 3 blocks.? Phoenix was led by Stoudemire with 33 points, 7 rebounds, an assist, a steal and 3 blocks while Nash scored 23 with a rebound and 10 assists; O’Neal added 19 with 14 rebounds, a steal and 4 blocks.? San Antonio, with their 2-0 series lead, travel to Phoenix for Game 3 on Friday night.
