Sampson Going To Milwaukee?

?????????????????????

One would think that former University of Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson would be treated with kid gloves, especially with his recent history in the college game; to catch you up to speed, Sampson is the NCAA coach who was dismissed by Indiana due to violations in his contract which barred him from certain recruiting responsibilities - in this case, Sampson made “inadvertent” telephone calls while coach at Oklahoma, which involved potential recruits - including not having contact with recruits, a no-no in his contract.? After his dismissal in Bloomington, he served as an official “observer” with the San Antonio Spurs.? Well folks, it looks like Sampson’s career path has taken an upswing as according to Marc Stein of ESPN.com, he is being seriously considered as an assistant coach for the staff that new Milwaukee Bucks coach Scott Skiles is assembling.

Specifically, NBA sources are saying that Skiles is targeting at least 2 men - Sampson and New Mexico associate head coach Craig Neal - as potential assistant head coaches up in Milwaukee; a possible third name that is coming up in circles is D-League coach Joe Wolf.? I can’t say that I have heard of Neal and his body of work, especially since he is an associate head coach, as opposed to say a head coach; I’m not saying that Neal is incompetent - he probably isn’t - I am just saying that I am unfamiliar with Neal and his accomplishments.?
