Hedo Named Most Improved Player In The NBA
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
The NBA announced on Monday that they have awarded Orlando Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu the NBA Most Improved Player Of The Year trophy. Hedo helped Orlando attain a 52-30 record which was good enough to make them Division Champions of the NBA Southeast Division. Turkoglu had career highs with 19.5 points, 5,7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game. Ironically Hedo was the subject of all sorts of trade speculation after the Magic signed free agent forward Rashard Lewis last Summer. Conventional thinking was that you could not start Lewis and Hedo together, that their skill-sets were too similar, they were both finesse players. But not only did the Magic start both players, they flourished, along with center Dwight Howard, they gave Orlando one of the toughest and most consistent front courts in the Association.
