Report: Brown To Coach Bobcats
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under Main
I suppose it was a matter of time before Larry Brown found a job somewhere - and find one he did; according to the Associated Press and verified by a source familiar with Brown’s situation, Brown has reached an agreement to coach the Charlotte Bobcats; the source, who requested anonymity because no announcement has yet been made, said that Brown was expected to sign a contract on Tuesday.? The team called an afternoon news conference to announce what is described as “a major basketball announcement”; assuming that Brown is in fact hired by the Bobcats, this will be the 9th team that Brown has coached.
Brown would replace Sam Vincent, who was fired after one season with a 32-50 record; as expected, Brown’s agent, Joe Glass, declined to comment, except to say, ?I have no information on Larry Brown.?? Yeah, right Joe.? The terms of the contract are unclear as of this writing, but one can expect that Brown will make much more than Vincent; Vincent was earning $1.5 million a year as coach and has a year remaining on his contract.
