It was time to get serious Tuesday night in the Motor City, and for the first time this series the Detroit Pistons showed that laser like intensity on the court. Detroit also for the first time this series has the lead in the series after having their way with the Philadelphia 76ers in?game five of their first round series, and winning the game 98-81. Detroit now leads the series 3-2, and can close it out Thursday in Philadelphia.

Detroit showed they were serious from the first quarter on as they grabbed a 35-21 lead at the end of the first quarter. Detroit cooled down considerably in the second quarter, but they only lost 2 points off their lead as they went into the half up 54-42. The Pistons basically put the game away in the third quarter, as they pulled out to a 20 point lead with a 79-59 advantage at the end of the third quarter. Philadelphia really never came close to posing a challenge in the final period.

Chauncey Billups scored 21 points, dished off 12 assists, and had 2 rebounds, in the Detroit victory. Richard Hamilton scored 20 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, Rasheed Wallace scored 19 points, 6 blocks, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal. Tayshaun Prince scored 17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal.

Andre Iguodala scored 21 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 block. Louis Williams had a big night off the bench as he scored 16 points, 2 steals, 2 assists, 1 rebound, Andre Miller scored 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal.? Detroit will try to close out the series Thursday in Philadelphia.
