Grizzlies Keep Iavaroni As Coach

I suspect the rumor mill will come to a grinding halt regarding Memphis Grizzlies coach Marc Iavaroni and his job status as according to Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Iavaroni will return to the team next season as their coach; this was ultimately decided after a meeting between Iavaroni and team owner Michael Heisley in which items of discussion included Iavaroni’s growing pains (i.e. job performance) and the emphasis on defense – a Grizzlie weakness.? Despite all of the speculation about Heisley possibly looking for a new coach, he decided to retain Iavaroni, sending the message that he wanted “stability” for the franchise.? Which begs the question: since when are?two consecutive 22-60 seasons a benchmark for stability?? Just wondering.?
