Report: Bryant Wins NBA MVP Award

??????????????????????????????

Most certainly there will be plenty of protest by fans of LeBron James, Chris Paul and others as according to the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant – based on sources familiar with the outcome of league voting-? has won his first NBA MVP award; the Times is also reporting that league commissioner David Stern will be in Los Angeles this week to present the award to Bryant.? The one glimmer of hope – assuming that the report by the Times is incorrect – is that Lakers spokesman John Black told the Associated Press, “We have not been told anything by the league.”

Bryant finished up?the regular season averaging 28.3 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 5.4 APG and 1.84 SPG while not missing any games despite tearing a ligament in his right pinkie finger in February; Bryant had previously finished third in the MVP voting twice?- after the 2002-2003 season when he was the league scoring champion and last season when Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki won the award.? Bryant will be the first Lakers player to win the award since Shaquille O’Neal won in 2000.
