The “Chicago Sun-Times” reported Tuesday that Chicago Bulls General Manager John Paxson wants to talk with former Dallas Mavericks head coach Avery Johnson about him possibly becoming their new bench boss. Only one problem, Paxson cancelled a previously scheduled interview session with Johnson last week, when they thought they were on the verge of signing Mike D’Antoni. Of course D’Antoni will be come the new head coach of the New York Knicks, as they made the former Phoenix Suns a very generous offer. Now Johnson’s representatives are dragging their feet in rescheduling a new interview session. Is Johnson perturbed at the Bulls, or just playing hard to get? Paxson reportedly would like to speak with current assistant coaches with the Boston Celtics, and Detroit Pistons, both teams are still in the NBA Playoffs.
