Ainge Wins NBA Executive Of The Year

Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge who turned a moribund franchise into the team with the best record in the Association’s regular season was?named the Sporting News NBA Executive of the Year on Wednesday. Ainge was given the award before game five of the Eastern Conference Semi-Final series between the Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ainge of course picked up two of the best players in the NBA as he acquirred?Ray Allen from Seattle, and Kevin Garnett from Minnesota. He also added two key bench players in James Posey and Eddie House. Boston finished? the regular season with a 66-16 record. Ainge finished ahead of LA Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak who placed second in the voting , and New Orleans Hornets General Manager Jeff Bower.
