Ewing To Return To New York?

Although it is the very early stages of New York Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni’s tenure, he is actively looking for assistants to fill out his coaching staff; one that is being considered, according to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, is former Knicks great Patrick Ewing.? At this juncture, it is known that D’Antoni will add his brother Dan D’Antoni yet the status of two other assistants who worked with D’Antoni while he was the coach for the Phoenix Suns - Alvin Gentry and Phil Weber - is unclear as of this writing; both Gentry and Weber are currently under contract with Phoenix and that may prevent one or both of them to work with D’Antoni.? Ewing, since his retirement, has worked for the Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets and NBA TV and has just completed his first season as an assistant coach with the Orlando Magic.
