D-Wade Buys A Church For His Mother

We live in a very cynical society, in what has become a very cynical age. There were times last year much to my chagrin, when this column resembled a police blotter. So excuse me for being a “softy” but writing a story like this brings me great pleasure. The Associated Press has reported that Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade participated in the the opening and dedication ceremonies of a new Chicago area church on?Sunday?named the “Temple of Praise” What makes this church so special though, is D-Wade bought it, for his mother to conduct he ministry in. The church is the culmination of the reclamation, and spiritual resurrection of his mother Jolinda Wade.

MS. Wade was caught up in the life of drugs, and seemingly heading towards destruction, when she turned herself into state authorities. She served a prison sentence, turned her life around, and while in prison founded a ministry. She is now an ordained Baptist Minister, and as of Sunday has her own church. MS. Wade spoke to reporters after the ceremony. She said “Today is one of the highest of the highest moments in my life! I feel reborn, Matter of fact, I feel reborn every day. There’s always something new every day. I just thank God for the experience. Today is the crossover. We’re in here today because of God’s goodness and God chose to use the heart of my son to do this for us … and he trusts the heart of his mama. Ain’t that something?” I totally agree MS. Wade!
