The Associated Press has reported that former NBA?referee Tim?Donaghy allegedly placed wagers on games that he officiated in the 2006-2007 NBA campaign. The charges stem from a document revealed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Goldberg in Brooklyn Federal Court Friday. Goldberg states he has evidence that the disgraced former NBA official bet on 30 games that season including 11 that he was a referee for. Donaghy has already plead guilty to charges of disseminating important game information to associates, and wire fraud. He is scheduled for sentencing May 22, and could possibly receive up to 25 years behind bars.
