Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star forward LeBron James, never speaks to the media without first weighing out his words. When I first started covering him as the Sports Director for Metro Networks in Cleveland, I was taken aback at how media savvy this 17 year old young man was. He has only become more so at his current age of 23. So when LBJ speaks there is a purpose behind what he says. After losing to to the Boston Celtics Sunday, in game seven of their Eastern Conference Semi-Final series, James said he did not blame his coaching staff or his teammates for the loss. But he sent a very telling message to Cavaliers management when he said “We need to get better, we know it. If that means there needs to be personnel changes, so be it.”

Tuesday the “Cleveland Plain Dealer” reported that Cavaliers General Manager Danny Ferry said the team wants to get that elusive Championship as much as his superstar player does. Ferry told reporters, that he is not feeling pressured by the fact that LBJ can become a free agent after the 2009-2010 campaign. He said they all have the same goal, getting the Cavaliers their first NBA Championship. Ferry told reporters “We all want to win. I want to win, Dan Gilbert, Mike Brown, LeBron, everyone feels the pressure of that. The city wants to win, and we want to be the team that helps this city celebrate a championship. That’s something that drives us all, and we’ll make decisions going forward based on giving ourselves the best opportunity to make that happen.”
