The “Chicago Sun-Times” reported on Wednesday that Memphis point guard Derrick Rose who is projected to be one of the top two players picked in the NBA Draft would be stoked to play for the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls were awarded the top pick in the NBA Draft Tuesday night by winning the lottery. Rose who helped get Memphis to the NCAA Championship game, which they lost to Kansas, can not think of a better scenario than being drafted by his home town team. Rose told reporters “I grew up in Englewood, played in the Chicago Public League, and it would be nice to make my hometown proud and give my family and friends the opportunity to see me play often. I come from a very close family, and I have a very special bond with my brother Reggie, who has really helped guide and prepare me throughout my career in AAU, high school and college.”
