Today Is Our Birthday! Slam Dunk Central Is One Year Old!

Today we here at ?Slam Dunk Central?are celebrating our One Year Anniversary. It was one year ago today that we published our first article, and we have been going non stop ever since! There have been some very long days spent here at Slam Dunk Central making sure we got you the NBA Fan the best and most reliable information on the “World Wide Net“. Not only have we kept you up to date during the NBA season, we kept you informed about the latest happenings in last year’s “Tournament of the Americas“, the “FIBA Euro-Games” and throughout this year’s “NCAA Tournament“.

Judging by our rankings, you seem to approve! In just one year’s time we have become one of the most widely read and highly ranked NBA websites. I would be remiss without thanking the following list of people, without whom we never would have made it through this first year. Thanks go out to the following; Sujeet (yep, he only goes by the one name.. He’s kind of like Prince, just way cooler!)? Matt Loede, one of my oldest and closest friends in the media, and my surrogate younger brother. Stephen Rhodes, reporter, columnist extraordinaire! Two very talented young writers who have both brought great contributions to SDC, Gregory Dix, and Kyle Stack. Special thanks go out to my beautiful bride of 25 years this December, my wife Polly, my life partner and best friend! Thank you?Baby, for putting up with my insanity, and my insane schedule as well! I know it has not been easy or fun for you at times, but you have supported me with your love thoughout?this process. But most of all I want to thank You, our loyal reader, for to a great extent that is what SDC is all about. We are here at Slam Dunk Central to fill a need, getting you the fan the information you need in an entertaining format. There are many alternatives you could have chosen but you have come to us, which is the thing that drives me to keep on pushing harder and harder each day!

At the start of Year Two at Slam Dunk Central?our goal is to keep on doing what?we have done but to?keep getting better doing it! This?Summer? we will once again cover , the NBA Draft,?the Las?Vegas League Summer Games, and the Olympic Games as the 2008 Dream Team try to reclaim the Gold. And the after that, we start the whole cycle over again, starting with Training Camp, and taking you all the way to the last game of the NBA Finals.

Today in celebration of our birthday, we are reprinting some of our most popular/controversial columns of?our?first year, including what was the first column we published on May 24, 2007. For those of?you who have read them before, we hope you enjoy them again. And if?it’s your first time reading them, then hopefully you will be entertained, informed and educated?by what you read!
