Team USA Will Play At Night; Beijing Time

The Associated Press reported on Tuesday, that Team USA will play all their basketball games in the 2008 Beijing Olympics at either 8:00 pm or 10:15 pm Beijing time. There is only one problem, Beijing time is 12 hours earlier than EDT, in other words the games will be played at 8:00 am or 10:15 am on the East Coast. If you live on the West Coast, that would be 5:00 am or 7:15 am. Now don’t blame this on the Chinese, they have nothing to do with it. This insipid schedule is courtesy of FIBA! Guess NBC doesn’t carry a lot of weight with them. Now I’m not worried for myself, this is my job, it will be streaming live somewhere. I’ll just adjust my schedule. But you think your boss is going to allow that big presentation to be delayed about three hours so you can watch the game? The first game for Team USA will be August 10.
