Hawks Hire Rick Sund As New General Manager

The Associated Press reported Wednesday that the Atlanta Hawks have hired Rick Sund to be the team’s new General Manager. Sund is a veteran of the Association, as he previously held posts with Milwaukee, Dallas, Detroit, and Seatttle. The Hawks made the announcement less than 24 hours after they were apparently rebuffed by Cleveland Cavaliers Assistant General Manager Chris Grant. There have been reports that the Hawks offered the job to Grant but he decided?to stay at his current post. Atlanta made the?NBA?Playoffs this year after a long drought. They were eliminated in seven games by the Boston Celtics.
