Scott Given Extension By Hornets

???????????????????????????????????????????????????
Without a doubt, New Orleans Hornets coach Byron Scott has done a masterful job in turning around a franchise that floundered on a regular basis; because of the job he did, he was rewarded accordingly as according to Brett Martel of the Associated Press, Scott and the team have agreed in principle Wednesday on a contract extension.? Hornets spokesman Harold Kaufman confirmed that the deal is in place, but would not divulge specifics.
There were signs that a deal would eventually get done - case in point was Scott travelling with Hornets general manager Jeff Bower this week to Orlando to scope prospects in pre-draft workouts.? Under Scott’s watch, the Hornets went 18-64 as he oversaw the dismantling of an aging roster; the team, after drafting Chris Paul, went 38-44.? The third year under Scott saw New Orleans win the tough Southwest Division, going 56-26; the Hornets won their first-round series against the Dallas Mavericks but lost to the San Antonio Spurs in 7 games in the Western Conference semifinals.
