Horry Unsure Of Future
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
During my career as a radio beat reporter in Cleveland, many people approached me, and asked me how to “make it in the broadcasting business.” I always told people the same thing; 90% of being successful in my business is being in the right place at the right time. However the other 10% is more important, it’s what you do with the opportunity when it is presented to you. San Antonio Spurs forward Robert Horry has made a very successful career in the Association, by doing just that. Horry who will turn 38 years old this August just completed his sixteenth season in the NBA. He has won seven NBA Championships, with three different teams. The Houston Rockets in the early part of his career, the Los Angeles Lakers in his middle years, and the San Antonio Spurs where he won his seventh title last year.? The veteran now holds the record for most NBA Playoff games played. He eclipsed former Lakers center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s mark this season as he now has 244, to Kareem’s 237. The Associated Press is reporting that Horry told reporters he is not sure whether he will lace up his sneakers for another go round. He told reporters “Right now I’m up in the air. That’s all I can really tell you, up in the air. I want to play, 80% of me wants to play and I’m sure as soon as I get in the gym and see people bouncing the ball it would turn into 100%. So we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.”
