Pistons Hunter Says Stuckey Is The Real Deal
Posted by Jeff Sack under Main
Detroit Pistons veteran guard Lindsey Hunter?is 37 years old and has just completed his fifteenth season in the Association. He has played more basketball than many people have watched, so when he gives an opinion, it probably means something. The Detroit Free Press reported on Sunday that Hunter believes that rookie teammate Rodney Stuckey is on the verge of becoming a star in the NBA.?Stuckey had performed beyond Detroit’s expectations during the exhibition season, and they thought he would be an impact player in his rookie year.? But just before the regular season the rookie broke his left hand during an exhibition game against the Washington Wizards.?Stuckey underwent surgery and missed the first part of the season recuperating. Despite the time missed Stuckey showed enough to the veteran, that Hunter is predicting the young man to be a force to be reckoned with in foreseeable future. Hunter told reporters “The sky is the limit for that kid! Once he gets his feet planted fully, there’s not many people who can do what this kid can do. He has such incredible upside. Physically, you look at Deron Williams and those types of guys, and he possesses some things that those guys don’t possess.” Stuckey came through as a potent weapon for Detroit during the playoffs.? He is expected to see increased minutes next year.
