One Response to “ESPN: Report: Doug Collins Will Not Become Bulls Head Coach”

If anything here, Collins dodged a huge bullet. Paxson and Reinsdorf have never been on the same page and that is a big part of what’s been holding the bulls back all these years. They just can’t decide what they’re doing: Are they building around their young guys? Are they stockpiling youth to trade for a superstar? They’ve been trying to figure that out for years, and it’s almost too late.

Not to mention, I’m not so hot on the players in Chicago. How do you think Larry Hughes is going to react to a ball buster like Collins, and how do you think Collins is going to take to a player who admittedly doesn’t care as much about winning as he does getting his way? How is Collins going to deal with Drew Gooden’s inability to not be a bonehead?

He doesn’t even know what team he would be getting since gordon and deng are restricted FA’s and those two and the bulls didn’t really endear themselves to each other between the end of last season and this season.

Stay in the booth, Doug. You don’t wanna end up looking like JVG.
