??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Earlier today I covered the Seattle SuperSonics’ draft needs and projected who they would select with their first-round pick.? Today I will cover the Houston Rockets’ draft needs and also predict who they will select with their first-round pick.
Houston Rockets
Draft Position - #25
Needs - Shooting guard, small forward.? Part of the problem with the Rockets is that there’s entirely too many point guards on their roster (Rafer Alston, Aaron Brooks, Steve Francis, Luther Head, Bobby Jackson) and not enough shooting guards (other than Tracy McGrady, who?).? Small forward’s less of a concern, but a concern nonetheless.
Houston Rockets select: Antonio Anderson, SG, Memphis
Tomorrow: San Antonio Spurs

Now that the Chicago Bulls have obtained the first overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, they obviously want to get the best up-close and personal visit from prospects as possible.? The team will be busy next week as according to Mike McGraw of the Daily Herald (a suburban Chicago newspaper), two of the top NBA prospects, Michael Beasley and Derrick Rose, will pay a visit to Berto Center - Beasley will arrive on Monday and Tuesday while Rose will arrive on Wednesday and will stay until Thursday.
Beasley, who is 6′8″, posted some huge numbers as a freshman at Kansas State, averaging 26.2 PPG and 12.4 RPG while shooting 53% from the field while Rose averaged 14.9 PPG and 4.7 APG for Memphis.? It is rumored that the Bulls are leaning towards selecting Rose, but team general manager John Paxson has said that he will keep an open mind until it is time to decide.

I somehow managed to not do a 2008 NBA Mock Draft analysis on Saturday - thank you very much real life - but will do a double dose today.? On Friday, I covered the Utah Jazz’ draft needs and projected who they would select with their first-round pick.? Today, I will cover the Seattle SuperSonics’ draft needs and will also predict who they will select with their first-round pick.
Seattle SuperSonics
Draft Position - #24 (Seattle receives Kurt Thomas and 2 future 1st round picks from Phoenix for future conditional 2nd round pick)
Needs - Center, point guard.? Center is definitely a position of need in Seattle.? After all, they have Robert Swift, Mouhamed Sene, Francisco Elson and Johan Petro.? Granted, they have lots of able bodies, but none of the aforementioned - if I was a SuperSonics fan - do it for me.? Nor should they do anything for you.? Point guard seems to be a weakness, as well; Luke Ridenour and Earl Watson as your options?? Certainly they can do better than those two.
Seattle SuperSonics select: Robin Lopez, center, Stanford
Later today: Houston Rockets
