Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star forward LeBron James told a Cleveland Sports Talk radio station that he is dedicated to the city of Cleveland Wednesday, and has no desire to play elsewhere. The 23 year old forward who just completed his fifth season in the Association, was on ESPN 850 WKNR promoting his upcoming charity event “King for Kids Bike-A-Thon“.  LBJ told the station, despite the rumors his plans are to stay in Cleveland. James said “I’m dedicated to bringing a championship to this city. I’m bringing a parade to this city. I love this city. I love Northeast Ohio. Right now, I can’t see myself going anywhere else.”

James who saw his team go down to defeat in seven games against eventual NBA Champions the Boston Celtics, said in his post game press conference, that his team had to get better. He addressed the subject with the station. LBJ said that he thinks that the Cavaliers are close to where they need to be. He told the station that the Cavs are one and a half players away. We’re very close. I’m at the point where I only look and work hard in the off-season to play into June. Anything short of that is a failure.”

When asked what Cleveland needs to do in the off-season, he said that it is just a matter of things falling into place. LBJ said “It automatically starts with the guys already on the team getting better as individuals. If personnel changes need to be made, that’s up to the front office. We are going to be good because I’m going to get better and I have faith in my teammates that they are going to do the same.”

The station asked James his opinion on Bucks forward Michael Redd. James responded “I still think about if we could have landed him in free agency a couple of years ago. He’s one of the best shooters we have in our game.” Redd has been the object of rumors regarding a possible trade that would send him from the Milwaukee Bucks to Cleveland.

The key part of that phrase was “Right now…”, and LeBron will keep saying this right up to the time that he suits up in a New York Knicks, or Brooklyn Nets uniform.

Not trying to rain on any parades Jeff… I just think that LeBron already sees himself elsewhere.

    Don-
Dude, do you have to take a reading comprehension class? LeBron saying that he “wants to stay in Cleveland” is a cryptic message for “I want to play in New York.” Brilliant. He said “I want to stay in Cleveland” over and over again during his rookie contract when half the world had him out the door the minute his rookie deal expired. Guess what? He stayed in Cleveland.

If I ever saw a dumba** like you on the street, I’d curb his a** for being a dumb rock. P.O.S.

This is a classic example of why Lebron will win the ‘Ship’ before Kobe. Lebron is committed to winning in Clevland. He knows that the Money will be there where ever he goes, but his leagacy will be even bigger if he stays in Clevland.
