Carmelo Gets Probation and Community Service

The “Associated Press” has reported that Denver Nuggets All-Star Carmelo Anthony pleaded guilty on Tuesday to charges of driving while being ability impaired. Anthony was originally charged with DUI a?much more serious infraction. Anthony has been sentenced to one year of probation, he has to complete 24 hours of community service, and pay a fine of?$1000.00.
Anthony was pulled over by police on April 14, as the vehicle he was driving was swerving from lane to lane. the Nuggets have suspended him for the first two games of the regular season. Carmelo who?just completed his fifth season in the Association, is a member of Team USA who will be in Beijing next month for the 2008 Olympics.??
