?????????????????????????????????????????????????????? New York Knicks forward David Lee

The speculation as of late has been that the New York Knicks were looking to move up in the 2008 NBA Draft; according to a pair of league teams, the Knicks are apparently in trade discussions with the Portland Trail Blazers.? Here’s the skinny: New York would ship their #6 pick, forward David Lee and another player to Portland for the Trail Blazers’?#13 and #27 picks?and a player (Steve Blake and Jarrett Jack come up often).? Lee’s name was dangled in front of the Memphis Grizzlies for their #5 pick, but nothing has come of that thus far.

Regarding Blake or Jack, either one could fill the Knicks’ need for a point guard, although personally I wouldn’t trade for either one of those two as there’s plenty of point guard choices in the immediate draft.? Lee, unfortunately, doesn’t appear to fit the offensive system that D’Antoni plans to use in New York as Lee’s jumper leaves a lot to be desired so I suspect that his days as a Knick are numbered.? There’s roughly 9 hours left (6:41 AM here PT) before the draft commences, so New York has a short timetable to get something accomplished.? And as in most drafts, you can expect the unexpected.
