Tickets For Oklahoma City Team Still Not Available

The “Oklahoman” reported Thursday that tickets for the new franchise that will play in Oklahoma City are probably not going to be on sale for more than a month. The team formerly known as the Seattle SuperSonics reportedly has a waiting list of 18,000 interested ticket buyers. But Team Chairman Clay Bennett told the paper tickets would most likely be put on sale on or around September 1. No new name for the franchise has been announced, I still favor the Oklahoma Cow Pie Kickers.

Reports Say Barbosa To Cavaliers Rumor Is Just A Rumor

If you are a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, best not to get your heart set on the vision of seeing Leandro Barbosa in wine and gold any time soon. Cavaliers beat writer Bob Finan reported in the The “News-Herald ” Thursday, that rumors that have been circulating about the Phoenix Suns sixth man being traded to Cleveland seem to be baseless. A NBA source told Finan?that there is not any information that the Suns have any inclination to trade the 2007 NBA Sixth Man Award Winner.? Cleveland definitely needs a star player in their back-court, and there was talk that Phoenix was not happy with the way Barbosa played defensively this past season. That reportedly was one of the points of contention between former coach?Mike D’Antoni, and G.M. Steve Kerr. D’Antoni is now head coach of the New York Knicks.

LBJ Leads The Way As Team USA Devours Turkey 114-82

LeBron James right ankle looked none the worse for the wear, as he scored a team high 20 points, to lead Team USA over Turkey 114-82 Thursday in Macau?. LBJ was one of six players on the USA squad to score in double figures.? The contest was one of three tuneup games the United States will play in Asia before the Beijing Olympics. The two teams played a close first quarter, as Team USA looked out of sync, and led by a razor thin 31-30 margin at the end of the?period. But the Americans broke out in the second quarter as they went on 23-7 run, and led at the half 54-37.

Team USA? shot 69.5%? from the field (41-59) for the game. James played stellar defense?as well as leading the team offensively, he shot 8-9, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists, and did not leave the bench in the fourth quarter. Carmelo Anthony scored 17 points, center Dwight Howard had 14 points, and 8 boards. D-Wade and Chris?Bosh each scored 13, Chris Paul scored 12 points in the game.

Guard Cenk Annkoyl led all scorers with 22 points, for the team from Turkey. They had four players in double figures and shot a? respectable 43.9% from the floor (29-66) for the game.?Turkey was without Hedo Turkoglu, and Mehmet Okur who both were out with injuries.

Bulls Get Deng Deal Done

The “Chicago Tribune” reported Wednesday that the Chicago Bulls have come to terms with restricted free agent Luol Deng on a contract that will keep him in Bulls uniform for the next six years. The deal according to the report is worth $71 million, and with incentives could be worth up to $80 million. Chicago General Manager John Paxson issued confirmation of the deal. Deng is the third restricted free agent that the Bulls have signed since July 1. They earlier this month signed Kirk Hinrich and Andres Nocioni to deals. The only player they have yet to re-sign from last year’s roster is Ben Gordon.?Reports out of Chicago are that there may not be the salary cap room to bring back Gordon.
