Beasley Can’t Take The Heat; Leaves Practice Due To Injury
Posted by Jeff Sack under NBA Injuries, NBA Rookies
The “Associated Press” reported Wednesday that Miami Heat first round draft choice Michael Beasley left his first practice with the team 45 minutes into the session after taking an elbow to the chest. Beasley who was the second pick overall in last Thursday’s NBA Draft, was taken according to team officials to see a doctor immediately following the incident. Heat rookie head coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters that he did not think the injury was anything major. He said that Beasley was taken to see doctors just to be safe. Miami will open up their Summer League schedule next Monday, Spolestra told reporters that he thinks Beasley will be physically able to play. He also told reporters that he was unaware of whose elbow caused Beasley’s injury.
