Reports Say Davis Will Be New Baron Of L.A. After Deal With Clippers

The “Associated Press” reported Tuesday night that veteran point guard Baron Davis has reached a verbal agreement with the Los Angeles Clippers which will result in a five year deal. Monday Davis opted out of the final year of his contract with the Golden State Warriors, believed to be worth $17.8 million. There have been reports of friction between Davis and Warriors head coach Don Nelson, which may have played a part in the decision to make the move. Davis who played his college ball with UCLA,?may have a vastly improved team around him with the Clippers. The team is reported to coming to terms with Elton Brand who opted out his deal with the Clippers on Monday.
