The “Associated Press” is reporting that former Los Angeles Clippers small forward Corey Maggette hasagreed to a multi-year pact with the Golden State Warriors. The deal is reported to?be for five years, and $50 million. Maggette had been offered mid-level exception deals by both the Boston Celtics, and the San Antonio Spurs, but turned both down for the situation that offered him the most economically. So after round one of “NBA Free Agency 2008” here is how it shakes out. The?Warriors lost point guard Baron Davis, but gained Maggette. The Clippers gained?Davis but lost Maggette and Elton Brand. The Philadelphia 76ers gained Elton Brand and lost nobody; winner of round one, Philadelphia.
